The Position
The Shire of Irwin is seeking a motivated, innovative, and dedicated individual to join our team as the Tourism and Events Coordinator on a permanent full‑time basis. This role represents the Shire with professionalism, leading the delivery of high‑quality events and engaging with our community and visitors to promote local tourism and related initiatives.
Reporting to the Manager Community Services, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering successful events with a strong creative focus on promoting and supporting tourism within the Shire. The role also coordinates the staffing and operational arrangements of the Dongara Denison Drive-In to support the safe, reliable and effective delivery of screenings. You will play a key role in enhancing the Shire’s profile, strengthening community participation, and supporting local tourism operators and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess (but is not limited to) the following attributes:
- A strong ability to deliver responsive, informative, and customer‑focused service
- Proven experience in tourism, promotions, cultural initiatives, or community development
- A solid understanding and working knowledge of the local tourism sector
- Excellent communication skills and high‑level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience implementing diverse digital marketing strategies to effectively promote tourism and events
